<h3>Families Can Explore Summer 2027 at the September 26 Open House</h3>
Families thinking ahead to summer 2027 are invited to visit Meadowbrook Country Day Camp during an Open House on Saturday, September 26, from 12–4 p.m. at 73 East Valley Brook Road in Long Valley.
The Open House is by appointment only. Families can reserve a time by emailing <a href="https://null" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">mason@meadowbrookdaycamp.com</a>.
During their visit, prospective camp families will have an opportunity to meet members of Meadowbrook’s leadership team, learn about the camp’s programs and philosophy, and tour its expansive wooded campus.
“There’s no substitute for coming to Meadowbrook, walking the grounds and seeing what makes the camp so special,” said owner Mason Goldberg. “We want families to get a real feel for the community their children can become part of.”
<h2>More Than a Summer Schedule</h2>
Meadowbrook Country Day Camp is an American Camp Association-accredited day camp located on a 50-acre campus in Long Valley. The camp serves children ages 3–15 and offers programming designed to help campers build confidence, independence, friendships and lifelong memories.
At the heart of the Meadowbrook experience are three priorities: family, connection and safety.
Campers become part of a caring, supportive community where they can form meaningful friendships, try new things and develop greater confidence and independence. Meadowbrook also places a strong emphasis on creating an environment where every camper feels safe, supported and included.
The camp’s TIGER core values — Teamwork, Integrity, Generosity, Enthusiasm and Respect — are incorporated throughout the summer, encouraging campers and staff to carry those lessons with them both at camp and beyond.
<h2>A Summer Filled With Possibilities</h2>
No two days at Meadowbrook are exactly alike.
Campers can spend their summers swimming in heated pools, playing sports, boating, mountain biking, taking on ropes and challenge courses, creating art, cooking, dancing, exploring nature and participating in special events and themed activities.
The variety allows children to enjoy the activities they already love while also discovering new interests and challenging themselves in new ways.
Older campers can also participate in travel programs that combine time at Meadowbrook with off-site adventures and experiences.
And while the activities are a big part of camp, the friendships and memories children create along the way are often what stay with them the longest.
<h2>Convenience for Busy Families</h2>
Meadowbrook also offers features designed to make summer easier for parents.
The camp provides door-to-door bus transportation throughout many North Jersey communities, with routes serving areas throughout Morris, Essex, Union, Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon, Middlesex and Somerset counties.
Before-care and after-care are also available, and lunch is served daily.
Another feature appreciated by Meadowbrook families is that staff tips are included in tuition, eliminating an additional end-of-summer expense.
<h2>A Place Kids Want to Come Back To</h2>
For Goldberg, whose own children have attended Meadowbrook, creating a successful camp experience goes far beyond filling a child’s day with activities.
The goal is to give campers a place where they feel known, supported and excited to return each morning.
Over the course of a summer, children have opportunities to become more independent, build confidence, develop friendships and experience the traditions and moments that make camp memorable.
Those experiences can become part of a child’s story long after the summer ends.

As the Midterm Elections draw near, voters are thinking about how to vote and engage with the politics of our day. Christians in particular have had a critical role in recent elections. How has history and theology shaped their decisions in the past and what can it teach us today? 
Third Space Asian America is happy to be hosting a lecture on "Christians and Politics" this coming Saturday, September 26th at 5 pm at the Livingston Senior/Community Center. The speaker will be Dr. Kellen Funk, Professor of Law at Columbia University and an Elder at Stone Hill Church in Princeton. He has his PhD in American History from Princeton University and his JD from Yale Law School. Time for Q&amp;A and a light community meal will follow the lecture. Appellate Division argument for the case.State v Edwards &amp; Wilson Appellate ArgumentDiane Wilson and Camryn Edwards were arrested on December 5, 2024, after a march and rally, when they attempted to enter Formosa Plastics Corp’s USA headquarters in Livingston, NJ, to hand-deliver a letter to top executives who work there. Those of you who were present saw that on the day of the rally, police cones had been placed on the lawn between the rally and the Formosa Plastics building. The Livingston police threatened to arrest anyone who went past the cones. Argument of their appeal from their convictions for Defiant Trespass in the lower courts will be heard by a three-judge panel of the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court on September 29th at 10:30 a.m. The Court will not render its decision on the 29th but will do so in writing sometime thereafter. Their appeal argues the convictions must be reversed because the prosecution failed to prove the required criminal intent beyond a reasonable doubt. They argue they lacked intent due to their correct belief that everybody has a Constitutional Right to peacefully approach a corporation’s public visitor’s entrance to ask executives whose offices are there to read and consider a letter. The appeal also argues the Police acted improperly by unilaterally setting limits on the property’s use beyond any that had previously been established by Formosa Plastics. Some background about Formosa Plastics and the earlier arrests: Formosa Plastics Group has a long history of violating environmental laws and destroying communities. In Point Comfort, Texas, the Formosa Plastics plant was subject to the largest citizen-brought Clean Water Act settlement in U.S. history and continues to disregard a court-ordered zero discharge of plastic mandate, racking up over 600 violations and counting. In St. James Parish, Louisiana, activists are opposing Formosa’s $12 billion petrochemical complex slated to be built in Cancer Alley. In Ha Tinh, Vietnam, a steel plant owned by Formosa Plastics Group was responsible for a chemical spill that’s considered the country’s worst environmental disaster. After fishing grounds were destroyed, the victims whose livelihoods were ruined have yet to see compensation. Additionally, over twenty activists remain in prison for speaking out on the disaster. The Formosa Four were arrested while blocking entrances to protest against Formosa Plastics, a serial corporate polluter, for more planned plastic expansion and more than 700 new violations of a Clean Water Act settlement that requires zero plastic discharge from its Texas plant into Lavaca Bay. Those new violations added $30 million in penalty payments to the original penalties of $50 million. In August 2024, more than 70 protestors – including clergy, parents, and environmental justice leaders – gathered at Formosa’s U.S. headquarters in Livingston, NJ. Six were arrested and charged with criminal trespass. Four of those six, including Goldman Environmental Prize Winner Diane Wilson (<a href="https://www.goldmanprize.org/recipient/diane-wilson/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">https://www.goldmanprize.org/recipient/diane-wilson/</a>), chose to head to trial. They were convicted in Livingston Municipal Court but appealed their conviction. New Jersey Superior Court Judge Arthur Batista issued an important ruling reversing the Livingston Municipal Court’s refusal to allow the necessity and justification defenses. Judge Batista ruled: “It is clear to this court, that these appellants have presented compelling grounds to allow the affirmative defense of necessity - justification to be raised at trial.” Trespassing charges against the Formosa Four were dismissed by a prosecutor after the group had prepared to use the necessity/justification defense to argue that environmental and public health concerns justified their actions. “This dismissal is just another win in the long fight against Formosa Plastics and the damage they continue to do to Texas’s environment and fishing communities,” said Diane Wilson, Environmental Activist and Member of the Formosa Four. “While this decision is a victory, I will not stop taking on this serial polluter that thinks it is above the law, and I will continue to do all that I have to do to protect my community.”
