Capoeira (pronounced ka-poo-ay-da) is a martial art developed in Brazil by enslaved Africans. It is a communal game in which two opponents play each other inside a circle, formed by the other players who create rhythm for the game by clapping,&nbsp;singing and playing traditional instruments. —ABADÁ Website
Bring the family and learn more about Abadà-Capoeira and building community through movement. Open to Veterans and Community.
We will provide instruments. Please bring hydration and a yoga mat (if you don’t have one, there will be a limited amount of extra mats).

Join the Friends of Willow Springs Park for their fourth FREE 2026 Willow Springs Experience: Violinist in the Park with Ramon Cabiling.
Enjoy a violin concert amidst nature in Willow Springs Park, as music nurtures a deeper, more meaningful connection with ourselves and the space in which we listen.
The concert of intergenerational music from different genre’s features returning favorites from last year and some new songs too. There will be two sets with a 15 minute intermission.
Please bring chairs or blankets and refreshments (no alcohol permitted).

Join the Friends of Willow Springs Park for their fifth FREE 2026 Willow Springs Experience: Painting in the Park with Lainey Atwood.
Reconnect with nature in this intuitive painting Experience. No prior painting knowledge required—just a curious and open mind. All skill levels welcome. This Experience offers environmental immersion, while observing nature’s rhythms and letting go of expectations.
Buckets for cleanup, tape and cardboard, palettes, extra brushes, and paint will be provided.
Participants will need to bring:
<ul><li>Watercolor/gouache or both (a whole&nbsp;set isn’t necessary but aim for two sets of primary colors, so two yellows, two blues, and two reds)</li><li>Brushes</li><li>Water cup and bottle</li><li>Paper: watercolor or mixed media, sized between 9 in and 18 in if possible</li><li>Towel/rag</li></ul>
Please also bring chairs and/or easel, hat or umbrella, and hydration.

Join the Friends of Willow Springs Park for their final FREE 2026 Willow Springs Experience: Music in the Park—a Double Header.
2:00 PM: Ukulele Music with TAMBR Under the shade trees of Longview Point with nature all around, you’ll enjoy a Ukulele concert by TAMBR. Originally a duo with Tina Burnight and Matt Reno on vocals and tenor ukuleles, they have expanded to a trio with Phil Reno joining on bass ukulele to bring a deeper more complex sound. Playing songs ranging from Jimmy Buffet to John Prine, with some Ingrid Michaelson thrown in.
3:20 PM: Celebrate the History of Long Beach through Music with Gregarious! A journey upward. Gathering of musicians and artists to present art that tells a story—embracing the challenges and celebrating the victories of life. Surrounded by the natural setting of Willow Springs Park.
There will be a 20 minute intermission between acts. Please bring chairs, blankets, snacks, and hydration (no alcohol permitted).
