Linda Joyce, Neighbor

Linda Joyce is an Amazon Best Selling author with a number of writing awards who writes about assertive females and the men who can’t resist them. Her Fleur de Lis series: Bayou Born, Bayou Bound, Bayou Beckons are all RONE Award Finalists, as well as Her Heart’s Desire, book one of her Sunflower series. Bayou Bound received 1st Place in Romance from Southeastern Writer’s Association and Bayou Beckons was awarded Best of Contemporary Women’s Fiction in 2015 by Authors on the Air.

A big fan of jazz and blues, Linda attributes her love of those musical genres to her southern roots, which run deep in Louisiana. If you walk through several New Orleans cemeteries you’ll find many of her people buried there. And of course, being a southerner, one of her other passions is food, she loves farm-to-table southern food.

Linda penned her first manuscript while living in Japan, the country where her mother was born and raised. Her teacher discovered pages and pages written during recess, and then demanded a special parent-teacher conference, something every military dependent child fears. Her teacher insisted the subject matter was too mature—romance. Linda’s mother insisted the teacher should be pleased to have such a dedicated student. Linda’s father returned home and said the conference was a waste of his time and the teacher ought to be grounded.

Now Linda lives in Kennesaw with her husband and a Brittany Spaniel, General Beauregard, who, after fourteen years, still thinks she’s his pet.
