League Voters’ Guide Now Available
The League of Women Voters of Montgomery County announces that free Voters’ Guides for the 2026 General Election are now available for voters. This trusty, non-partisan guide has information about candidates for each office and where they stand on the issues. It also includes summaries of the three state ballot questions along with arguments For and Against each question. investigating “What do voters know – and what should we know - about the judges who appear on our ballots?” The process by which voters in Maryland are expected to choose circuit court judges – the result of compromises over many years – leaves many of us confused. How can we find readily accessible, reliable information on judicial candidates’ qualifications before we go to the polls? 
Our panelists will discuss reforms that are being recommended to the State of Maryland to improve the process and what resources are available to voters to help them play a more meaningful role in judicial elections:

Expo program:
<ul><li>Workshops (10 - 11:45 a.m.)&nbsp; Start your day with two engaging workshops tailored to jobseekers aged 50 and above. These sessions provide valuable strategies, tools, and insights to support your career journey.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Employer Presentations (12 - 3 p.m.*)&nbsp;Employers share information about their current full and part time job openings. Jobseekers can ask employers questions via Zoom chat, making the expo a dynamic and interactive experience.</li></ul>
Jobseekers: Whether you are re-entering the workforce, changing careers, or seeking new opportunities, you are invited to join us for the expo on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026. Ever wonder how smart home technology tells the difference between you and your pet? We are seeking dog owners and their four-legged companions to assist in testing next-generation technology designed to distinguish between human and non-human movement in home environments! What You Will Do Location: Onsite, realistic mock-apartment setup in the Rockville, MD area. Duration: 1-hour private, 1-on-1 session with an onsite moderator. Activities: You and your dog will perform routine, everyday household activities guided by the moderator, such as walking room-to-room, playing, or searching for treats, while motion-tracking devices evaluate the environment. Participant Requirements To be eligible, you must be located in Rockville, MD or within a 1-hour drive of the area, and be willing to travel to the testing facility. You must own a well-socialized dog, be comfortable participating in light physical activity alongside your pet, and have availability on weekdays. The total payout is $150, which covers 1 hour of onsite testing and round-trip travel time (to and from the site). Note: This is an onsite project. To participate, you must be located in Rockville, MD or the surrounding areas. If you live or work outside of these areas, we kindly ask that you pass on this opportunity.
