The Bob Blazier Run for the Arts is a fun, family-friendly way to get active and support your community! Winding through the scenic residential streets of Crystal Lake, the event features a 5K Run/Walk and a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk on flat, easy-to-navigate courses. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or enjoying a carefree stroll, the Blazier Run is a chance to celebrate community, fitness, and the arts. Medals go to the fastest in each age group, while the overall male and female winners earn Running Depot gift certificates and the coveted Bob-Bobblehead trophies.

<h3>Honoring a True Community Champion</h3>
Early in 2025, Crystal Lake lost a beloved icon. Bob Blazier, known fondly as “Mr. Crystal Lake,” passed away at 98. For nearly seven decades, Bob exemplified what it means to put service above self, improving education, healthcare, and business in the community. Raue Center is proud to continue his legacy through the Blazier Run.
How It Started: Thirty years ago, this 5K charity event was created to honor Bob’s remarkable contributions. He envisioned the race as a way to give back to the performing arts center he helped rebuild—what we now know as Raue Center.

Bob Jay&nbsp;is known as the man of 999 voices his show consists of impressions of several famous celebrity and cartoon characters he also does several sound effects. Bob was voted best up an coming comic in Vegas and finished in the top five of the Chicago’s got talent competition.
Originating from the Pacific Northwest, Tory Ward combines her amiable, light-hearted personality with sardonic humor, creating an experience that is singularly hilarious. She’s performed in festivals across the country including, Limestone Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest and 10,000 Laughs. She’s opened for comics such as Kyle Kinane and Marc Maron.
Mike Preston: With his slightly damaged take on things, Mike Preston has worked comedy clubs and sordid one nighters from coast to coast for over thirty years, and made several TV appearances, including SHOWTIME’S COMEDY CLUB, and NBC’S FRIDAY NIGHT. Along the way, he produced and hosted a cable access talk show, as well as self publishing several books, including the landmark self-help parody – STOP TALKING NOW! In addition to standup, Preston is currently working in the storytelling genre.

While entertaining at clubs throughout the Midwest, he regularly makes audiences laugh with his funny and familiar stories that you can’t imagine really happened to him. Ted brings those unbelievable true stories to life with a polished wit and an endearing charm.
Vince Carone Known as the “CEO of Rage,” Vince delivers high-energy, brutally funny takes on relationships, family, and the complexities of adulthood. With multiple comedy albums and specials, his unfiltered honesty and rapid-fire style make him a standout on any stage.

We are excited to kick off the 8th annual 6x6 PROJECT, a fundraiser and online art auction. Artists of all ages and abilities are invited to participate by creating original works of art, in a variety of mediums, on 6” x 6” canvases. To participate, canvases must be obtained for a $5 donation at Raue Center's box office, 26 N. Williams Street, Crystal Lake, or one of the other locations that are partnering with us for this important cause. Please make sure to double check the hours of operation for each location. During the art reception,&nbsp;awards &amp; prizes&nbsp;will be presented in&nbsp;both&nbsp;divisions:&nbsp;1st–3rd place&nbsp;(jury-selected), and a&nbsp;People’s Choice&nbsp;Award&nbsp;(public-selected).&nbsp;Like and follow our Facebook and/or Instagram page for regular updates, sneak peeks of art and more! The 6x6 PROJECT art reception and online auction will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 5:30 to 8pm at the Raue Center For The Arts. This fundraising event will be open to the public and all participating artists will be invited as our guests!&nbsp; The 6x6 PROJECT is a fundraiser and online art auction/exhibition, with all proceeds benefiting Raue Center’s educational programs, Mission Imagination and Raue Center School For The Arts, which have been enriching the lives of over 20,000 kids a year in the local community since 2001. Iconic comedian Paula Poundstone is known for her smart, observational humor and a spontaneous wit that has become the stuff of legend.&nbsp; She regularly plays theaters across the country, hosts a weekly comedy podcast, Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone, and is a regular panelist on NPR’s Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me. She also voiced the character ‘Forgetter Paula’ in the feature films Inside Out and Inside Out 2.
Paula has starred in several HBO specials, including Cats, Cops and Stuff, which nabbed a cable ACE award for Best Comedy Special. She was the first female comic to host the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. She filed live coverage of the 1992 Democratic and Republican National Conventions and the Presidential Inaugural for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and at the 93rd Emmy Awards. Paula has starred in two television series, both entitled The Paula Poundstone Show. Paula’s second book, The Totally Unscientific Study of the Search for Human Happiness, was one of eight semi-finalists for the Thurber Prize For American Humor; the audiobook was one of five finalists for the AUDIE award for Audiobook of the Year. Paula has released five albums and is featured in several documentaries and compendiums noting influential comedians of our time.
