Melissa arrived in New England in 2008 to pursue a degree in journalism at Emerson College. Originally she's from the warmer land of Miami, FL.
It's taken her some time to get accustomed to the quirky ways of Bostonians, but she has found a second home here.
Melissa got her start in local news during the summer of 2010 when she had the opportunity to intern in the Neighbors section of The Miami Herald.
Now, as an outsider, she welcomes the opportunity to keep learning about the different communities in Massachusetts.
