Emma’s Revolution returns to Cedar Lane on Saturday, September 26, for an evening of live folk music, powerful harmonies, and songs about hope, justice, and community.
The acclaimed American folk duo of songwriters Pat Humphries and Sandy Opatow (Sandy O) will perform as Cedar Lane launches its 2026–27 Concerts at Cedar Lane season—and celebrates its 75th anniversary.
Known for their soaring harmonies, acoustic musicianship, and songs inspired by movements for social justice, Emma’s Revolution has performed across the country and has been praised by Pete Seeger. Their music has also been featured on NPR’s All Things Considered and Democracy Now!
The concert is part of Cedar Lane’s 2026–27 series, “An Unforgettable Evening,” bringing live music and community together in a welcoming setting.

Tickets are offered on a sliding scale, with individual concert tickets available at $15, $25, and $35. Season passes are also available.
Come enjoy an evening of music, connection, and hope—and help Cedar Lane celebrate 75 years as part of the Bethesda community.

Looking for a little time to slow down, reflect, and connect with others? Writing Alone &amp; Together offers a welcoming, supportive space to explore your own thoughts through quiet journaling and optional sharing.
Led by Cathy Bamji, a Board Certified Coach, Certified Grief Educator, facilitator, and author, each gathering uses the monthly Soul Circle spiritual theme as a starting point for reflection. You’ll have time to write privately, listen to your own thoughts, and—if you wish—share your reflections with the group and experience the gift of being heard.
No writing experience is needed. Just bring your curiosity and willingness to pause and reflect.

Experience an evening of live music performed by professional musicians from the D.C. Federation of Musicians at Cedar Lane in Bethesda.
Concerts at Cedar Lane welcomes musicians from the American Federation of Musicians, Washington D.C. Union Local 161-710, for a special concert featuring talented performers from the Washington-area music community.
Many of these musicians have faced significant challenges to their livelihoods during the current closing of the Kennedy Center. This concert offers an opportunity to hear outstanding local musicians and celebrate the vital role that working musicians play in the cultural life of our region.
Join friends, neighbors, and music lovers for an evening of live performance in Cedar Lane's welcoming sanctuary.

Step out of the noise of the season and into a quiet, contemplative close to the year.
On New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2026, Cedar Lane opens its beautiful Sanctuary for a meditative labyrinth walk—a gentle, grounding practice that invites reflection, release, and intention-setting as one year turns into the next.
Walk the labyrinth at your own pace in meditative silence, accompanied by live harp and piano music from Meg Baker. The labyrinth fills the Sanctuary floor, with chairs along the walls for resting, listening to the music, or simply taking a quiet moment.
The final walk begins at 8:30 pm, but you’re encouraged to arrive earlier and walk at your own pace.
✨ Free and open to all 🕯️ Drop-in; registration requested but not required 🎵 Live harp and piano by Meg Baker 🧦 Please walk in socks or shoe covers; clean socks will be available 💛 A donation basket will support the musician, with additional funds benefiting Cedar Lane

Step back in time for an evening of Renaissance music performed on historical instruments by Forgotten Clefs.
Based in Bloomington, Indiana, Forgotten Clefs brings the sounds of Renaissance wind bands to life, performing on period instruments and offering audiences a chance to experience music much as it might have sounded centuries ago.
The ensemble's distinctive program makes for a fascinating evening for longtime early-music fans and anyone curious to hear the unusual sounds of Renaissance wind instruments.
Presented by Concerts at Cedar Lane, the concert takes place in Cedar Lane's sanctuary in Bethesda.

The evening will also feature games, food, beverages, and treats available for purchase, plus two indoor showings of a family-friendly Halloween movie at 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. FOR TRUNKERS
Want to join the fun and decorate a trunk? Participation is free, and each registration reserves space for one vehicle. Registered trunkers should arrive at 5:00 p.m. for parking, setup and decorating before trick-or-treating begins at 6:00 p.m.
Please bring individually wrapped, prepackaged candy to distribute throughout the evening. As a thank-you for helping us make the event special, participating trunkers will receive a $20 food and beverage credit to Härth Restaurant &amp; Lounge.
CELEBRATE FOR A CAUSE
A portion of food and beverage proceeds from Trunk or Treat and throughout October will be donated to the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation (www.vbcf.org) in support of breast cancer awareness.

Ever wonder how smart home technology tells the difference between you and your pet? We are seeking dog owners and their four-legged companions to assist in testing next-generation technology designed to distinguish between human and non-human movement in home environments! What You Will Do Location: Onsite, realistic mock-apartment setup in the Rockville, MD area. Duration: 1-hour private, 1-on-1 session with an onsite moderator. Activities: You and your dog will perform routine, everyday household activities guided by the moderator, such as walking room-to-room, playing, or searching for treats, while motion-tracking devices evaluate the environment. Participant Requirements To be eligible, you must be located in Rockville, MD or within a 1-hour drive of the area, and be willing to travel to the testing facility. You must own a well-socialized dog, be comfortable participating in light physical activity alongside your pet, and have availability on weekdays. The total payout is $150, which covers 1 hour of onsite testing and round-trip travel time (to and from the site). Note: This is an onsite project. To participate, you must be located in Rockville, MD or the surrounding areas. If you live or work outside of these areas, we kindly ask that you pass on this opportunity.
