Zlock Performing Arts Center Presents The Jersey Beach Boys

West Coast Sounds Meet East Coast Moves!

Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 7:30 PM
Newtown, PA – Get ready for sun, surf, incredible harmonies, and nonstop fun when The Jersey Beach Boys bring their high-energy tribute to the Zlock Performing Arts Center on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 7:30 PM.
Imagine the unforgettable West Coast sound of The Beach Boys combined with the smooth moves, style, and showmanship of the great East Coast vocal groups. This one-of-a-kind, fully choreographed tribute brings both worlds together for an action-packed evening of music and entertainment.
Performed by LIGHTS OUT, The Jersey Beach Boys captures the iconic harmonies and feel-good music that made The Beach Boys one of America's most beloved groups. But this isn't simply a concert tribute. The show adds the energy and visual excitement of classic East Coast vocal groups, creating a fresh and entertaining spin on some of the most recognizable music of the rock-and-roll era.
With tight harmonies, choreography, comedy, audience participation, and plenty of interaction, The Jersey Beach Boys turns a night at the theater into a celebration. Audiences won't just hear the music—they'll become part of the show.
From the carefree spirit of summer to the unmistakable harmonies that defined a generation, LIGHTS OUT combines the sights and sounds of both coasts into an evening filled with nostalgia, laughter, and great music.
Whether you grew up with this music or are discovering it for the first time, get ready to sing along, have some fun, and enjoy a musical trip back to the days of sunshine, surfboards, hot rods, and unforgettable American rock and roll.

The Return of Benjamin Lay — A Powerful One-Man Play Comes to Newtown
What happens when someone is willing to risk everything to challenge injustice?
On Friday, October 16 at 2:30 p.m., Friends Village welcomes The Return of Benjamin Lay, a compelling one-man play starring acclaimed stage, film and television actor Mark Povinelli.
Nearly 300 years after his death, Benjamin Lay returns to a Quaker meeting house to confront the community that disowned him for his outspoken opposition to slavery. Standing just four feet tall, the self-described “Little David” challenged the Goliath of slavery at tremendous personal cost. Moving between past and present, the production explores conscience, protest, equality and what it means to stand against injustice—even when doing so means challenging your own community.
Povinelli brings an extensive career to the role, with credits including the OBIE Award-winning Mabou Mines DollHouse, Nightmare Alley, Water for Elephants, Modern Family, Criminal Minds and Boardwalk Empire. He is also a longtime advocate for people with dwarfism and has served as president of Little People of America.

Registration is requested at least 48 hours in advance. Contact Norma Coverdale at 215-968-3346 ext. 100 or ncoverdale@friends-village.org, or register online.
This special presentation is made possible with support from Newtown Friends Meeting. Donations are welcome to help defray the cost of bringing this production to Friends Village.
Register and learn more at Friends Village: friends-village.org/benjamin-lay
