Book Reviews:

Some of America’s most lauded writers, including God of the Woods author Liz Moore, have endorsed Heartwood, calling it an “a literary thriller of the highest order… an absolute must-read,” (Elin Hilderbrand), “impossible to put down” (Jennifer Egan).
Heartwood was Jenna Bush Hager’s Read with Jenna pick for April 2025 (see video below). Amity appeared on The Today Show with Jenna twice and was a featured guest at the inaugural Read With Jenna Book Festival in Nashville in May of 2025. Heartwood was also a national bestseller and #1 on The Boston Globe bestseller list.
Literary Stages:
Amity Gaige has appeared on some of the largest literary stages, from the LA Times Book Festival, the National Book Festival in D.C., and the Rome Festival of International Literature. She has made appearances on NPR’s <a href="https://www.npr.org/2013/02/01/169969840/schroder-chronicles-a-fathers-desperate-mistakes" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">All Things Considered</a>, <a href="https://omny.fm/shows/where-we-live/connecticut-authors-tell-stories-about-the-voyage-1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Where We Live</a> and All of It with Allison Stewart, as well as having spoken extensively at numerous universities.
Personal Life:
Amity Gaige lives with her family in West Hartford, Connecticut, and teaches creative writing at Yale.</td></tr></tbody></table>
