The Old Library by Lake Afton

Only in Yardley can you experience this kind of 250th birthday celebration. The Yardley Historical Association has 105 rubber duckies ready to float out on Lake Afton bearing your wishes for the future.&nbsp; They can be wishes for Yardley, America, the Earth, the Universe, or you. You can write your wishes right on your duck (markers will be on hand) or write a longer message on paper and tie it around your duck's neck (we'll have those supplies, too.) When your duck is ready, you&nbsp; can place it in the Lake.&nbsp; Your wish afloat.A canoeist will be on the water in case some herding is needed and will, of course gather the ducks at the end of the event.&nbsp; Polluting Lake Afton with plastic ducks is not our wish. This July, join us for a special sermon series exploring the lives and faith of four influential figures from America's founding era: George Washington, Benjamin Rush, Abigail Adams, and John Witherspoon.
While these leaders came from different backgrounds and held different roles, each wrestled with how faith, character, and conviction could shape public life. Their stories remind us that faith has long inspired people to serve their communities, pursue the common good, and lead with courage during times of uncertainty.
As we reflect on their lives, we will also consider an important question for our own time: How is God forming us today to be faithful leaders, neighbors, and citizens? Whether in our homes, workplaces, schools, churches, or communities, God continues to call ordinary people to live out their faith in meaningful ways.

Sophia Stef Gallery

LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. — Sophia Stef Gallery is inviting artists to participate in the inaugural One Day, One Work, an annual juried exhibition celebrating the creative possibilities of a single day. The exhibition will be on view August 8 through September 12, 2026, at Sophia Stef Gallery on the third floor of The People's Store in Lambertville.
Designed as both a creative challenge and an exhibition opportunity, One Day, One Work asks artists to conceive and complete an original artwork within a single calendar day. The exhibition encourages participants to embrace spontaneity, intuition, and creative presence, shifting the focus away from perfection and toward the experience of making. Whether inspired by a landscape, a conversation, a memory, or the quiet details of everyday life, artists are invited to create work that reflects a genuine response to their surroundings.
Original two- and three-dimensional artwork in all media, excluding photography, is eligible for submission. Artists of all experience levels are encouraged to apply, from emerging creatives to established professionals.
Artists may submit up to three original works for a $40 flat submission fee. Selected artists will receive 70% commission on all artwork sold during the exhibition.
All submitted works must be conceived and completed within a single calendar day. There are no size restrictions. The submission deadline is Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
The exhibition will be juried by Sophia Stefanowski, founder and curator of Sophia Stef Gallery. Since opening the gallery in 2025, Stefanowski has organized a growing series of exhibitions featuring artists from across the region and beyond, establishing the gallery as a welcoming destination for contemporary art in the Delaware River Valley.
In addition to the juried exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artwork throughout the run of the show. First, Second, and Third Place Awards will be announced during the Closing Reception on September 12.
The Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, August 8, from 4 to 6 p.m., featuring live music by Jameson Cooper, light refreshments, and an opportunity to meet participating artists.

This year’s charity is HOPE LOVES COMPANY; The only charity in the world that focuses on helping kids who have or had parents or family with ALS.
