About the author: Joyce Berardi studied at Long Island University and received her National Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Her favorite and most memorable place to work was Labor and Delivery.
She lives on Long Island with her husband, Carlo. Joyce has two sons, Andrew and Marc, a daughter-in-law, Laura, a granddaughter, Capri, and enjoys watching true crime shows.

The&nbsp;next Silent Book Club Sayville chapter meet-up of 2026 will take place&nbsp;on August 6th at 7pm at Tiny Raccoon Books, 277 Railroad Avenue.Have you committed to reading more books in 2026? Here is a great opportunity to do so! Silent&nbsp;Book Club is a community of readers worldwide. With traditional book&nbsp;clubs, you might not like the chosen book or finish it on time. You&nbsp;might not love the conversation that’s involved with a conventional book&nbsp;club. Silent Book Clubs have no assigned reading and no need to&nbsp;discuss the book! Show&nbsp;up, socialize, shop, spend some time reading, and then socialize some&nbsp;more or keep reading. It’s up to you. Everyone is welcome, and anyone&nbsp;can join. Bring your own book, audio book (with headphones) or buy one!

About the book: In this debut bilingual poetry collection, poet Sitlali delves into the life of an Ecuadorian-Chicano (or, Indigenous) navigating boyhood, identity, heartbreak, tinnitus, and an uncertain future quelled only by dreams and prophecies.
"Relatos, Lamentos, y Profecias" paints the life of many a Latino living in the United States' story. From the determined Mexican immigrant, to the heartbroken American-born Ecuadorian teenager, to the sketchbook dwelling half-Salvadoreña, and the revolutionary Puertorriqueña, all folks have a story waiting to be told in verse and prose.
About the author Born to Mexican and Ecuadorian descent, Sitlali is a poet and author who wishes to tell the tales of brown boyhood, immigrants from all over America Latina, and the continued struggle for the ever elusive "American Dream" under growing fascism and late-stage capitalism.

Join us on August 15th from 12-4pm for a Meet + Greet from Long Island author Tara Healy. The author will be selling and signing copies of her book, 'Volume of Forgotten Lore'.
About the book: Tara Healy is back with another collection of chilling short pieces. Follow the lives of a substitute teacher as she navigates a class unlike any she's experienced before, a single mother attempting to keep her son safe from what lurks outside of their rural home, an old man and his dog who get a surprising visitor, and many many more in Volume of Forgotten Lore.
About the author Tara Healy is a 24 year old author from Long Island, New York. She studied Creative Writing at Manhattanville University and the University of Edinburgh, where both schools’ architecture gave way to plenty of inspiration for a horror author. Besides short stories, Tara also loves writing scripts, specifically radio plays. Her newest radio play, Finding Jane May, will premiere in September 2026. When not writing, you can find Tara reading, cooking, or hosting elaborate dinner parties with her friends.

About the author: Effie Kammenou believes it’s never too late to follow your heart—and her romantic fiction reflects that belief. A first-generation Greek-American, Effie writes contemporary romance and women’s fiction infused with Greek culture, family traditions, and emotionally layered love stories.
After working in the optical field for over forty years while raising her two daughters, Effie published her debut novel, Evanthia’s Gift, in 2015. Inspired by her mother and her family’s journey from Lesvos, Greece, to America, the book launched The Gift Saga, a multigenerational women’s fiction trilogy centered on love, loss, and legacy. Her interview with her father—who shared stories of their family’s past until his passing at age 100—was later published in the nationally circulated magazine Reminisce.
Effie is the award-winning author of The Gift Saga and The Meraki Series, including Love Is What You Bake of It, Love by Design, and Love Is Worth Fighting For, with Love in Plain Sight set to complete the series.
