Tracy L.F. Worley, DM, PMP, is a scholar and educator, writer, researcher, project manager, and independent motion picture producer. She is a federal employee but also runs a Christian education not-for-profit, Virtue in Christ (affiliate ministry of the Northeast Baltimore Bible Institute and College), that is dedicated to women’s Christian training and spiritual fortification. She has been a member of the Parent-Teacher Association since 2000, serving two years each as treasurer and then president of a local PTA. She currently serves as the Communications Chair for the Harford County Council of PTAs in Maryland, and she is a member of the Edgewood Middle School PTSA in Harford County. Dr. Worley’s grounded theory research into African American female leadership in major motion pictures (http://www.blackwomencinema.us) demonstrates a need for preparation beyond the classroom, and is timely given the current discourse. Dr. Worley’s participation in the media and performing arts gives foundational significance to her research. As an instructional designer and developer with multiple non-profit and Christian organizations whose foci were education and advocacy, she has conducted qualitative research including grounded theory, focus groups, appreciative inquiry, and case studies, and some quantitative research using structured surveys, SPSS, and data collection and analysis.

Dr. Worley’s research interest is a complex blend of project management, media and arts management, and women’s leadership studies. She is a qualitative methodologist and instructional designer who has developed several curricula in the arts, filmmaking, project management, health-related disciplines, and Christian education. She has presented at multiple academic and professional conferences, and her writing has been published in peer-reviewed journals and monographs, including the Project Management Journal. Dr. Worley has been a member of the Project Management Institute since 2001, she holds two Masters Certificates in Project and Program Management, and she earned her project management professional (PMP) certification in 2007. She spent many years as lead project manager for her company, TLF Limited Management, a production, project, and events management firm. Dr. Worley has also developed materials to increase board participation, develop fiscal responsibility, and build leadership capacity for a variety of local mon-profits, including Sisters Empowered to Promote Interest and opportunities in the Arts (SEPIA). Her instructional experience ranges from pre-teens to adults, classroom and online settings, and collegiate to in-service, continuing, and Christian education venues. From 2008-10, Dr. Worley developed a curriculum integrating arts appreciation and health education for UMOJA Works, a national nonprofit focused on HIV and AIDS awareness through alternate media, for which she is the executive director. Dr. Worley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Syracuse University (1987), a Master of Fine Arts in Film from Howard University (1992), and a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix (2014).
