ā¢ Daily news: July brought lots of rain to Utah, but reservoirs are still struggling (upr.org) ā Riverton residents packed a recent city council meeting to argue over their police departmentās partnership with federal immigration agency ICE, with some praising it for safety and others calling it an overreach. No changes were made to the agreement, while elsewhere in Utah officials monitored a large wildfire and reported that strong July rains still havenāt solved the stateās reservoir shortages.

ā¢ Charges filed in Costco 'tap-to-pay fraud scheme' (ksl.com) ā Riverton shoppers are among those affected in a tapātoāpay fraud scheme that allegedly hit multiple Costco stores across the Wasatch Front, including locations in Riverton, Sandy, and South Jordan. Prosecutors say a California man used numerous stolen card numbers to buy nearly $20,000 in electronics before being arrested in Sandy. Ā Ā Ā
