π± SLC Among Hottest Job Markets In U.S. + New Social Club Downtown
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Salt Lake City.
Good day, people of SLC! Joseph Peterson here with today's copy of the Salt Lake City Daily.
First, today's weather:
Breezy and warmer. High: 75 Low: 51.
Here are the top five stories today in Salt Lake City:
- The Wall Street Journal measured 300 metropolitan areas across the country and found SLC to have the fourth hottest job market in America. The other four of the top five hottest job market cities from the Journal's ranking were Austin, Texas, Nashville, Tennessee, Raleigh, North Carolina, and, coming in fifth, Jacksonville, Florida. Provo, Utah ranked as the second hottest job market among smaller metro areas. (ABC4.com)
- Social clubs are coming back in style. The traditional concept, hundreds of years old, is the hot new trend among major American cities, and Salt Lake is no exception. No, I'm not talking about the Alta Club, but two brothers native to Salt Lake have paved the way for Edison House to open near the corner of 300 W and 200 S in the heart of downtown SLC. The three-story building will include a performance venue, several bars, two restaurants, a rooftop pool, and a gym. (Fox 13 News)
- "I know it's just stuff to somebody else, but it's all we have left." After losing their home to the Caldor Fire, a California couple's trailer was stolen near the airport in Salt Lake City while returning to their hometown after several months of staying with family in the wake of losing their home. The Millers figured it would be safe enough near the airport as they were passing through on their way back to California from Indiana but the trailer was lifted off its hitch from the couple's truck staying in a nearby hotel. It was their wedding anniversary. (KUTV 2News)
