Tucked into a bend in Ogden Canyon, UNITS of Utah owners, Laird and Sadie Doman, were a welcome site for runners at this year’s sold out Ogden Marathon. The UNITS sponsored water station was set up at the halfway point and the start of the 12K race, providing water, essentials, encouragement, and a smile.
“The experience was a blast! We had great feedback about how fun and lively our station was, and how our positive energy was just the motivation the runners needed as they made their way down the canyon,” says Laird Doman. “That made us feel great!”

Now they’re hooked on the feeling, and already committed to volunteering again for next year’s race!
Donating their time and a storage container to the scenic Ogden Marathon was a perfect fit for the UNITS franchise owners. Their container was just what was needed in the winding canyon in the days leading up to and during the race. Race organizers were able to use the container to store 600+ gallons of water, supplies, tables, and first aid supplies to assist the first aid station at the location.

“My wife and I were looking to volunteer in our community, and this marathon became the perfect local event. We’ve always wanted to be part of something in our hometown!” exclaimed Doman.
UNITS of Utah offers high quality constructed containers that are clean, weather resistant, spacious, and available in various sizes. UNITS has the most technologically advanced delivery system in the industry, eliminating the typical frustrations that come with moving a home or relocation of a business, or staging for an event like the marathon.
The Domans were personally managing the drink station, pouring over 10,000 drinks for parched runners! With a large and energetic group of volunteers at their stop, the Domans and their group blasted and danced to music and encouraged every runner that came by with cowbells and noise makers. That extra energy boost helped motivate runners as they ran down the canyon to the finish line.
