New D1 Training Location Helps South Jordan Athletes Build Skills and Confidence

New D1 Training Location Helps South Jordan Athletes Build Skills and Confidence

SOUTH JORDAN, UT. (May 4, 2026) – D1 Training, a leading fitness enrichment concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training, will be opening a new location in South Jordan, 681 South Jordan Pkwy, on May 18. The new group fitness facility employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals.

In celebration of the new location’s launch, South Jordan neighbors and residents are encouraged to stop by and meet the facility’s team at its grand opening event on May 16th from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., featuring community partners, facility tours, fun athletic challenges including speed and vertical leap tests, SWAG, and raffle prizes. Following the event, classes will officially begin on Monday, May 18th, giving local athletes of all ages the opportunity to experience D1 Training’s programs firsthand.

The new D1 Training South Jordan is owned and operated by husband-and-wife duo Dave and Emily Hunt, both University of Utah graduates and lifelong Utahns who grew up near South Jordan. Now raising three active children of their own, they understand firsthand the role that sports and fitness play in shaping young lives and how important it is to have the right environment to support that growth. Dave has built a career as a leader in the tech and software industry, while Emily spent her early career in social work, different paths, but a shared commitment to helping people thrive. That same passion for health, wellness, and athletics made D1 Training a natural fit.

What drew them to D1 was more than just the programming. The Hunts saw an opportunity to serve their community in a meaningful way with a place where athletes of all ages and skill levels could walk in, regardless of where they are in their fitness journey, and find the support and coaching they need to reach their goals. That mission resonates just as much for the adult athlete looking to level up as it does for the young player developing their game for the first time.

"Health, wellness, and sport are central to how we live our lives," said Dave. "D1 brings those things together in a way that's structured, science-backed, and genuinely fun. Whether you're a kid just getting started or an adult looking to push yourself further, we want this to be a place where people come to get better. For us, it’s all about helping people reach their potential.”

D1 Training offers four age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18) and D1 Adult. Each fitness program is based on the five athletic-based tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down. Outside of group workouts, D1 Training offers group, semi-private, and one-on-one training with world-class coaches. The goal is simple: to continue to train athletes who are dedicated to their sport or fitness goals, regardless of age, or athletic background.

“Dave and Emily are the ideal candidates to bring the D1 Training experience to South Jordan,” said the brand’s Chief Operating Officer, Dan Murphy. “We’re thrilled to welcome them to the D1 family and are confident in their ability to show the South Jordan area what they’ve been missing out on. D1 is a one-of-a-kind fitness experience that’s built around the individual and meant to help people meet their athletic goals. Our strong network of franchisees embodies our core values to bring the D1 Training vision to life, and we know Dave and Emily will do just that in South Jordan and its surrounding communities.”

Strategically expanding across the nation through franchising, D1 Training has more than 150 facilities open with over 100 additional locations in various stages of development. The brand is currently seeking financially qualified business builders, former athletes, and entrepreneurs, who share a passion for fitness and youth sports, who are ready to make a positive impact on their community.
