• 2 girls on e-scooter die after being hit by truck in Syracuse (ksl.com) — Two 13-year-old girls were killed Wednesday afternoon when a pickup truck hit their e-scooter at the intersection of Heritage Parkway and Banbury Drive in Syracuse. Emergency crews responded quickly but could not save them, and Syracuse police, along with Utah Highway Patrol, are still investigating the cause of the crash. 
• Girls volleyball: Barkdull sisters setting ‘gnarly' example for deep Syracuse team (standard.net) — Syracuse High’s girls volleyball team opened the 2026 season with a dominant sweep of Northridge, led by senior twins Brinley and McKinley Barkdull and a deep supporting cast. Coach Megan Allred says the Titans’ experience, maturity and depth have them eyeing another deep playoff run after last year’s near-miss at a state title berth.
