• Shots fired, suspect dead after WVCPD officers respond to man who allegedly threatened hotel staff (gephardtdaily.com) — West Valley City police fatally shot a man Sunday morning after hotel employees reported he threatened to shoot them and advanced on an officer with large metal objects at the TownePlace Suites on Highmarket Drive. Investigators from West Jordan are handling the protocol review, and the involved officer is on standard administrative leave while officials work to confirm the man’s identity and interview witnesses.
