• Shaftsbury Barracks / Accessory Before the Fact / Sexual Assault / Cruelty to a Child (blogspot.com) — A Bennington woman has been cited to appear in Bennington Superior Court on October 12 in connection with an alleged child sexual assault case, including charges of accessory before the fact and cruelty to a child. State police say she is accused of allowing and encouraging her adult son’s sexual relationship with a juvenile, and she was released on her own recognizance pending arraignment.
   

• Red Cross: Keep the blood supply ready, give blood or platelets this fall (vermontbiz.com) — Bennington residents can donate blood at Bennington College on October 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., supporting a statewide Red Cross push to strengthen the fall blood supply. Donors who give between late September and mid-October may receive a $15 e‑gift card and other limited-time perks while helping ensure hospitals have lifesaving blood products on hand.
