• Coastal scientists discuss coastal ecosystem health at annual estuarine research society conference (adirondackexplorer.org) — Charlotte marine ecologist Stephen Hale helped organize a major coastal science conference at SUNY Plattsburgh, spotlighting Lake Champlain’s unique ecology and protection efforts. About 100 researchers gathered to discuss coastal restoration, saltmarsh health, and freshwater and marine life, while Vermont experts shared how both states are working to safeguard the 120‑mile lake.
