• Vermont not making the grade on educating students with disabilities, feds say (vermontpublic.org) — A leader from the Essex Westford School District is warning that Vermont’s poor federal rating on special education could eventually threaten millions in funding and leave students with disabilities without legally required support. State officials acknowledge longstanding problems and high staff turnover, and say they’re reorganizing and recruiting a new special education director to improve outcomes across Vermont.
