• Five-Foot-Wide Meteor Luckily Broke Up In The Atmosphere Before Falling To The Ground (themainewire.com) — A Jeffersonville resident’s video helped capture a dramatic meteor that streaked over Smugglers’ Notch and rattled homes across New England on Saturday. NASA says the five-foot-wide, 11,000-pound space rock broke apart high in the atmosphere, releasing energy equal to about 300 tons of TNT and likely dropping any debris into Cape Cod Bay.
