• Central Vermont Out of the Darkness Walk Brings Hope and Suicide Prevention Resources to Montpelier on Oct. 4 (thebridgevt.org) — Montpelier residents are invited to the Central Vermont Out of the Darkness Walk on Sunday, Oct. 4 at the Statehouse lawn, with check-in starting at 9 a.m. The free, non-competitive event offers suicide prevention resources, remembrance activities, and community support while raising funds for education and advocacy across Vermont. Organizers emphasize reducing stigma and helping neighbors recognize when someone needs help.
   

• Families brave the rain for final 'Playing Fields' performance on State House lawn (mynbc5.com) — Families gathered on the State House lawn in Montpelier for the final day of the Flynn's free "Playing Fields" tour, watching giant sea creatures float overhead despite the rain. Two daytime shows went on, but weather forced cancellation of the 6 p.m. performance. Organizers say bringing this imaginative spectacle to Montpelier helps make the arts more accessible to local kids and families.
   

• Police: Montpelier man again assaulted woman (timesargus.com) — A Montpelier man has pleaded not guilty to a felony second-degree aggravated domestic assault charge after an alleged incident involving a woman at Central Vermont Medical Center. Police say surveillance video shows an argument by a vehicle, and the victim has since obtained a relief-from-abuse order while the case proceeds in Washington County criminal court.
