• Rockingham Library awarded AARP Community Challenge grant (vermontjournal.com) — Rockingham residents can soon borrow foldable kayaks, inflatable paddleboards, and e-bikes from the Rockingham Free Public Library, thanks to a new AARP Community Challenge grant. The library is already running programs through October to help especially older adults learn the gear and connect with neighbors, with full equipment checkouts expected to begin next summer.

• Vermont school district merger committee groupings finalized (reformer.com) — Rockingham School District is part of a new Southeast regional merger study group under Vermont's Act 170, alongside nearby districts including Bellows Falls and Springfield. Committees must start meeting by Oct. 15, with final recommendations due in 2027 and potential community votes in 2028, giving Rockingham residents several years to follow and influence school governance decisions.
