• No suspicious package found after HAZMAT team called to Williston ICE facility (mynbc5.com) — Emergency crews and the Vermont HAZMAT team rushed to the ICE facility on Harvest Lane in Williston Monday after a report of an envelope containing an unknown powder, but no suspicious package or substance was ultimately found. Officials say the “good intent” call led them to thoroughly search the mailroom before clearing the scene and reopening the building, which houses federal Homeland Security and ICE operations.
   

• Obituary: Willard 'Bill' L. Bickford Sr., 1932-2026 (sevendaysvt.com) — Williston residents are mourning longtime community member Willard “Bill” L. Bickford Sr., 94, who passed away on April 15 after a life rooted in family, service, and music. A U.S. Army veteran and banking professional, he was active in the First Congregational Church of Essex Junction. Celebration of life and burial services are planned for mid-June in Essex Junction and Glover.
