• Welch to Host Common Grounds Listening Session in Windham County (senate.gov) — Senator Peter Welch is coming to Windham County on Monday, October 5, for a Common Grounds Listening Session at Brooks Memorial Library in Brattleboro from 2 to 3 p.m. Residents can share concerns about how Washington can better serve Vermont and are encouraged to RSVP in advance to attend.
• Vermont's Biggest Power Plant Has No Chimney. It Lives in 5,500 Homes. (webpronews.com) — Green Mountain Power's growing network of home batteries now forms Vermont's largest "virtual power plant," and some of the earliest free battery pilots targeted remote homes on single-line circuits in Windham County. The utility is also hardening rural lines in nearby towns like Brattleboro, Jamaica, Newfane, and Wilmington, cutting outages and costs while aiming to eliminate power interruptions statewide by 2030.
