VA Beach Teen Charged After Leading Cops On High Speed Dirt Bike Chase: Report

A 15-year-old in Virginia Beach is facing 13 charges after fleeing from officers on a modified electric dirt bike.

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – A Virginia Beach teenager accused of repeatedly driving their electric dirt bike recklessly is now facing multiple charges after leading police on a high-speed chase and eventually being tracked down by a helicopter, according to reports.

WRIC reports that a 15-year-old riding a modified electric dirt bike avoided officers attempting to make a traffic stop on Sand Bridge Road Saturday afternoon, blowing past multiple cruisers. A helicopter unit was called in to track the teen, who was caught after abandoning the bike.

According to WRIC, Virginia Beach police say the teen had modified the bike, making it more dangerous. They also say the teen had received multiple warnings for reckless driving and was already on a court-ordered probation because of the behavior.

The teen now faces 13 charges, among them reckless driving and eluding officers.
