2 Annandale Restaurants Vandalized By Burglar: Police
Police say a suspect smashed the front doors and stole items inside.

ANNANDALE, VA—Two Annandale restaurants were targeted in burglaries with damage Thursday, according to Fairfax County Police.
The burglaries happened seven minutes apart. The first was reported around 1:13 a.m. at Rice Pot Asian Cuisine, 4709 Backlick Road. Officers found the front door shattered. The restaurant owner came to the scene and reported money was missing, as well as other items. The suspect was described as wearing jeans and a green sweatshirt.
The second incident happened at Sorak Garden Restaurant, 4308 Backlick Road. At 1:20 a.m., fire department staff found the front door of the restaurant shattered and called for police. Officers found the cash register was overturned with money missing. The suspect was described as a person wearing jeans with a light gray or green jacket.

Police did not say if the incidents are related. The two restaurants are located in the same area. There were no other reported burglaries that night.
