AARP Tax-Aide Program Offers Free Tax Assistance
The program runs through April 17 and is available to seniors and all who need assistance filing returns.
The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program is offering free assistance to residents who need help filing their taxes this year.
The free service is available at the in Annandale and the at 2855 Annandale Rd in Falls Church until April 17, which is also the deadline for filing tax returns. Walk-ins are available at both locations.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers prepare all taxes for residents. Although the service is geared toward residents 60 years of age or older and people with low income, volunteers will assist all residents who stop by regardless of age. According to the AARP website, all Tax-Aide volunteers receive training and must pass three IRS certification exams and an ethics exam.

Taxpayers should expect the process to take up to two hours to complete their returns and bring any W-2 or 1099 forms, last year’s tax returns, a photo ID and all relevant receipts. For more information about other documents to bring, visit the AARP website.
