Annandale Area Church Vandalized With Racial Slurs

Police are investigating a number of break-ins, including an instance where a church member was assaulted.

Fairfax County Police are looking into a number of break-ins and vandalisms at an Annandale area church within the last few months.

The incidents happened at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (8922 Little River Turnpike). The most recent break-in happened Tuesday morning, and detectives found racial and religious slurs written in graffiti.

In another incident back in May, a church member was assaulted with a fire extinguisher and went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The break-ins are as follows:

  • May 11 - Burglary
  • May 16 – Destruction of Property
  • May 18 – Burglary, Destruction of Property
  • May 21 – Burglary, Simple Assault
  • June 3 – Burglary, Destruction of Property
  • June 4 – Burglary, Destruction of Property
  • June 26 – Burglary, Destruction of Property

Detectives are working to determine if the seven incidents are connected. No information about suspects is available.
