Annandale House Fire Displaces Residents

An electrical malfunction in an Annandale home displaced two residents on Labor Day.

ANNANDALE, VA—Two residents were displaced from an Annandale house fire in an unfortunate end to the Labor Day weekend.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, firefighters responded to the fire in the 4000 block of King Arthur Road. Smoke appeared to come from the two-story home, and firefighters located it in the garage and quickly put it out.

The two residents of the home safely evacuated after the smoke alarm sounded. No one was injured in the fire.

Investigators determined that the fire started with an electrical malfunction within the main electric panel in the garage. Damages are estimated at $87,500. Red Cross assistance was declined.
