Annandale Reckless Driving Crash: Passenger Dies

A passenger left behind by a driver in the Annandale crash has died, police say.

ANNANDALE, VA—A passenger critically injured in Saturday's reckless driving crash in Annandale has died, according to Fairfax County Police.

The passenger, Remi James, 22, of Centreville, was in critical condition after the crash in Patriot Drive and Ivymount Court.

Police say an officer stopped a car that was driving erratically on Little River Turnpike around 3:10 a.m. Saturday. The driver gave his driver's license to the officer, then fled in the car. He ended up crashing into a number of parked cars at Patriot Drive and Ivymount Court and fled on foot.

There were two passengers in the car. The other was also taken to the hospital but in non-life-threatening condition.

Police say charges against the driver are pending.
