Fairfax County Police say a masked gunman tried to rob the Annandale Dollar and Gift Store Wednesday afternoon.The attempted armed robbery took place Wednesday at about 2:30 p.m. in the 7200 block of Maple Place in Annandale (see map below).Police say a man entered the Annandale Dollar and Gift store, displayed a handgun and demanded money. Something apparently spooked the suspect and he fled without any cash, police said. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as black, 25-35 years old and about 195-205 pounds.
