Bailey's Crossroads Rotarians Buy Toys for Youths

Annual event makes Christmas a bit merrier for local children.

It's a Christmas tradition. Members of the Bailey’s Crossroads Rotary Club buys toys to help local children have a happier holiday.
The effort is run by Rotarian Dave Mercer. Dave collects funds from individual club members along with a donation from the club’s charitable funds for a total $3,195. Some of the money was used to purchase children’s books. The remainder was spent for toys at the Skyline Target. Some of the toys will be used for the Fairfax County Police Department Santa’s ride where donated toys will be given to deserving children at local elementary schools and children spending the holidays at local hospitals. The club dropped the toys off at the Mason District Fairfax County Police Station. The remaining toys where delivered to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church to be distributed to children in the Culmore area. Rotarians lending a hand this morning were David S Mercer, Dennis Shannon, Ben Hester, Patricia Borowski, Robert E. Polson, Neesa and Roger Hoskin and Dave Borowski.
