Bailey's Crossroads Rotary Club Distributes Thanksgiving Meals

It's a decades old Thanksgiving tradition

Members of the Bailey’s Crossroads Rotary Club and Interact students from Justice High School partnered with the Safeway at Crossroads Center Way to deliver food boxes to help make the holiday a little brighter for area residents. The club buys the food from Safeway at a discount. Members meet at the Safeway store and pack boxes with a whole chicken, string beans, pie, potatoes, stuffing and biscuits. Members drive students to previously selected families and drop off the food. This year nearly 30 Rotarians and friends plus 30 Interact students delivered 100 meals to families in the Culmore section of Bailey’s Crossroads.Rotarians Kate Walter and Sarah M. Shannon helped organize the event. Judy McDermott rallied Justice Interact students.
