Bailey's Crossroads Rotary Club helps furnish apartment for homeless family
BXRC works with Homestretch
The Bailey's Crossroads Rotary Club has been a supporter of Homestretch Falls Church with funds and volunteer hours. Homestretch is a non-profit organization designed to address the root causes of homelessness for each family and reverse it. It is a comprehensive housing program that helps homeless families with children in Virginia to find the resources they need to rebuild their lives.
On March 10 members of the Bailey's Club worked for almost four hours to decorate a new apartment for a family of four who have lived in a homeless shelter for some time. All furnishings were donated. The tenants will pay a part of the rent with Homestretch paying the balance.
Our club has supported Homestretch with club funds and district grant money. Rotarians Pat Borowski, Dave Borowski, Sarah Shannon, Pam Martinov, Leslie Atkins and Preston Atkins worked with other volunteers and Homestretch staff to make this happen.
Funding for our charitable work is made possible by generous donations from the community.
