Man Stabs Security Guard, Steals His Car In Annandale (Updates)

(Updated) ANNANDALE, VA—A man was arrested after attempting to flee a bank robbery and assault at an Annandale bank.

Fairfax County Police say the robbery happened at Little River Shopping Center. Around 9 a.m., the suspect attempted to carjack a woman, and a security guard stepped in to fight him off. The suspect took out a knife, stabbed the guard stole his keys. The suspect fled in a car with his dog. He ended up crashing into another car and a wall near a Safeway by John Marr Drive, then fled on foot.

Police arrested Kelly Christopher Robinson, 35, after he refused to cooperate with several officers and had to be tasered and pepper sprayed. The suspect was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained before police arrived. The victims have non-life-threatening injuries, and no police officers were injured. The dog, which police believe is a pitbull, is being taken to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter.

Residents should be aware of police activity from from Little River Shopping Center to Ravensworth Rd. Use caution in the area.
