Visit the Historic Oakton Trolley Station and Support Conservation in Northern Virginia
Join NVCT on September 23 from 5-7pm at the Historic Oakton Trolley Station to celebrate and support land conservation in Northern Virginia.

Preserved by NVCT in 2011, the Oakton Trolley Station includes the trace of the raised trolley roadbed along an undisturbed corridor. The property is one of the last remaining trolley station's in Northern Virginia and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. During the early 1900's, the Station served the Washington and Fairfax Electric Railway, shuttling what was then rural Fairfax County residents to DC. From an ecological standpoint, the 1-acre Property contains important open space, significant tree cover, and wildlife habitat in a densely developed area of Fairfax County. The Station is in private ownership and is not generally open to the public.
Please join Northern Virginia Conservation Trust (NVCT) on Sunday, September 23 from 5-7pm at the Oakton Trolley Station (2923 Gray St., Oakton, VA) to celebrate this wonderful project and support the work of NVCT. Larry Velte, Vice President of the National Capital Trolley Museum will be the featured speaker. The event will include a variety of natural foods, displays on how NVCT is protecting the region’s quality of life through voluntary land conservation, a line of fine wines from Northgate Vineyards (local Northern Virginia wine), and other delights. Live music from the Greg Harrison Jazz Band will also help you enjoy the treasured surroundings.
Advanced registration is required. Tickets may be purchased online at showcase.nvct.org
