Braddock Elementary to Host Second Annual Walk-a-Thon on Friday
The event will raise funds for school programs and more
Students at will walk for a cause on Friday, Nov. 11 when the school hosts it's second annual Walk for Education Walk-a-Thon from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The students will walk in laps for approximately an hour, grouped according to grade, to raise funds for school activities such as educational enrichment programs, field trips, school assemblies, school patrol programs, and teacher appreciation functions. Braddock ES faculty will also participate in the event.
Parent-Teacher Association President Mike Tran said the fundraiser replaces traditional sales of wrapping paper and candy and places an emphasis on fitness and teamwork. Similar to last year, the students will have the chance to vote on how some of the funds will be used.

Volunteers are needed to greet students and other walkers at the finish line and to pass out bananas and bottled water. Giant has donated many of the supplies, but cases of bottled water are still needed. If any community members are interested in volunteering or donating water, contact Rae Tran at vp2@braddockpta.org.
Annandale Patch will have photos from the walk-a-thon on Friday.
