Students from Braddock Elementary School played flag football during halftime at the George Mason v. Virginia Commonwealth football game Saturday at George Mason. The students, in the School Age Child Care program at Braddock Elementary, tied 0-0 with a team of students from Laurel Hill Elementary. "[SACC teacher Mr. Chad] has done an incredible job in encouraging the kids, helping each and everyone of them find success, and building them together as a cohesive team," said Braddock Elementary School PTA Secretary Suzan Yungner in an email to Patch last week. The students were also allowed to run through the football stadium's tunnel prior to the GMU game, wearing new Braddock Eagles jerseys. Note: An earlier version of the story indicated that the Braddock team lost 6-0. The information above has been corrected.
