The Northern Virginia Conservation Trust (NVCT) honored Jean R. Packard, outgoing board chairwoman and former chairwoman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Sunday evening at its annual “September Showcase” at in Annandale. Packard received the organization's lifetime achievement award, re-named the “Jean R. Packard Award," for her conservation work. 

The event also included garden tours, educational displays, live music, wine and specialty foods. Green Springs Garden Park features 22 demonstration gardens on 31 acres.
