Customer Startles Would-Be Armed Robber in Annandale: Police

PHOTOS from surveillance cameras show a man at an Annandale gas station Sunday who police say tried to rob the business at gunpoint. Police say anyone with information about the suspect is asked to immediately contact them.

Fairfax County Police detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who attempted to rob the Exxon Gas Station at 3403 Holly Road (see map below) on Sunday, shortly after 5 p.m., police said Monday.

An employee of the gas station reported that he was standing outside the business on Sunday when after re-entering the business, a man followed behind him, according to police.

Once inside, the man produced a handgun, threatened the victim and demanded money, police said.

Alexandria Police are also investigating two gas station robberies that took place on Sunday.
