For a low-key and very affordable Christmas dinner, head to A&J Restaurant. The Northern Chinese-style eatery has won Washingtonian’s Best Bargain Restaurant Award eight times. A&J will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas day from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Choose between the regular lunch and dinner menu or if you’re celebrating Christmas early on in the day, the traditional Chinese breakfast menu. Celebrate Christmas at one of the best Chinese restaurants in town at Duck Chang’s. The Washingtonian Award winner for 10 consecutive years has been voted to have one of the best Peking Duck in the area. The popular eatery gets busy on Christmas Day but you can make reservations for parties of six or more. Enjoy American cuisine at this trendy restaurant just outside of Annandale. Foxfire will be open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. and will offer a wide variety of entrees from grilled portabella mushrooms with mascarpone wedges for $14 to filet mignon for $26 to gourmet mac-n-cheese for $15. Foxfire will also be open on New Year’s Eve from 11 a.m. – 2 a.m. with a special holiday menu. Price level: $$

Enjoy a classic American meal at the neighborhood diner, open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. You can’t go wrong with the Jukebox Diner, known for its delicious all-day breakfast menu and its Italian and Greek entrees. Though technically in Falls Church, this Peruvian restaurant is just down the road for east Annandale residents. The popular Latin American eatery will be open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. – 2 a.m. and on Christmas Day from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. House specialties include sautéed beef (Peruvian style) and green spaghetti with steak. If you’re celebrating Christmas on a budget, head to this neighborhood bar and grill offering a unique menu of American, Italian and Tex-Mex. Little Italy Bar & Grill will be open on Christmas Even from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The late-night crowd can grab a drink at Little Italy’s Bar until 2 a.m. Price level: $

One of the most popular restaurants in Annandale, Silverado will be open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. – 11  p.m. The Great American Restaurant will offer brunch at 11 a.m. and dinner starting at 3 p.m. Choose from Southwestern-style food including steak, seafood and Tex-Mex. Specials may be subject to change but will most likely be a special fish as the entrée, fried oysters and calamari as the appetizers and crème brûlée for dessert. Szechuan Star will be open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. with a wide selection to choose from including two-flavor mushroom delight, scallops with mixed vegetables and two-flavor chicken. You won’t have to worry about eating on schedule at Yechon Restaurant! The Korean and Japanese restaurant will be open 24/7 on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Yechon serves traditional Korean cuisine and Japanese sushi and sashimi. Price level: $$
