Annandale Driver Killed In Moped Crash, Fundraiser Started
Police responded to the one-vehicle crash in the Lincolnia area on Monday morning.

LINCOLNIA, VA — Fairfax County Police say an Annandale resident died in a moped crash Monday morning in the Lincolnia area.
The crash happened around 2:20 a.m. on Lincolnia Road at Columbia Pike. There was only one vehicle involved. The moped was traveling east on Columbia Pike when it left the roadway and crashed. The driver, Erwin Rodriguez, 32, of Annandale, was thrown from the moped and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Next of kin have been notified. A verified GoFundMe page is set up to support his wife, Karina. Rodriguez is described on the page as a father of two, husband, brother and son.

Police say it is unclear if alcohol or speed were factors in the crash. Rodriguez was wearing a helmet.
Closed lanes on Lincolnia Road and Columbia Pike have reopened. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Fairfax County Police Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543 or submit a tip through Crime Solvers.
