The Annual Fairfax County NCS Technology Summit provides a forum for corporations, private enterprises, clubs and individuals of all ages to share their endeavors in science, engineering, technology, and communications. The event is open to the public and there are no entry fees. Past presenters have included the Fairfax County Government GIS Department, Northern Virginia Rocketry Club, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, Westwood College, IBIZ Laboratories, the United States Patent and Trade Office, NOVA Medical Campus, Academic One Online Tutoring, Hewlett Packard, and INO Solutions. Computer Clubhouse participants are scheduled to showcase robotic demonstrations and a computer build competition. There will be live broadcasts scheduled from Computer Clubhouse locations around the country and around the world. This year, for the first time, we have access to the James Lee auditorium and will have a keynote speaker kicking off the event with a presentation at 11:00 am. Also new, the agenda for the day will include 15-20 minute breakout sessions lead by enthusiastic speakers on relevant technology issues that impact our lives. Also new, the Summit will be a drop off point to recycle old computers and computer parts. Herndon Middle School Virginia Star Program participants will be on hand to demonstrate how to upgrade computers and help individuals determine if their old computers are salvageable. The event is scheduled from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm, Saturday, June 11 at the James Lee Community Center. A broad range of events and presentations are scheduled throughout the day, so the public is encouraged to drop by any time between 11:00 and 3:30. Food and beverage will be available on site.
