Writer and Lecturer Amadou S. Shakur “In Search of Greatness: Mandela, Gandhi and Nkrumah”

The lecture will discuss Shakur’s views on West African history and the spread of Islam throughout the world.

Shakur is a writer, lecturer on West African history, the spread of Islam in Africa and the Americas, and Islamic Spain.  He is the founder and Director for the Center for the African Diaspora, Charlotte, North Carolina; Director of Development for the Museum of Muslim Cultures; and Senior Consultant for Unity Productions Foundation, a Washington DC film company.  He currently hosts the "Open Forum" on American Muslim 360 Radio.
