Fairfax County Proclaims Oct. 24 Polio Awareness Day

Rotary District 7610 Rotarians receive proclamation designating Oct. 24 as Polio Awareness Day in the county.

On Oct. 19 the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors proclaimed Oct. 24 as Polio Awareness Day in the county. The proclamation was co-sponsored by Supervisors Jeffrey McKay, At-Large Chair; Penny Gross, Mason District and Dalia Palchik, Providence District. Supervisors thanked Rotary International and District 7610 for their work in polio eradication. Some supervisors shared personal stories of family and friends and their struggles with polio.

Rotary District 7610 Governor Pat Borowski addressed the board and spoke of Rotary’s work in eradicating polio.
