First Nationwide Emergency Alert Test 2 p.m. Wednesday

Emergency alert test is the first to run across all time zones nationwide.

On Wednesday, Nov. 9, the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will conduct the first test of the Nationwide Emergency Alert System.

This nationwide test will kick off at 2 p.m. (ET).

This system test is the first of its kind designed to broadcast a nationwide message to the public. The three (3) minute test will run concurrently on all radio and TV band stations across all time zones.
