Update: Three Annandale Residents Complete Boston Marathon

All three finished the 26.2 mile course in under six hours.

Update 12:05 p.m. Tuesday-Three Annandale residents successfully completed the 116th running of the Boston Marathon on Monday.

Their results are:

  • Richard Hartley, age 48 - Pace 0:09:18. Finished in 4:03:28.
  • Samuel M. Richman, age 54 - Pace 0:13:07. Finished in 5:43:36.
  • Theresa White, age 42 - Pace: 0:09:08. Finished in 3:59:07.
  • Ann B. Abbot, age 33 - No results recorded.

Four residents from Annandale have registered to compete in the 116th running of the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 16 in Massachusetts.

Ann B. Abbot, 33, Richard Hartley, 48, Samuel M. Richman, 54, and Theresa White, 42, are all registered to participate.

Annandale Patch will have an update on their finishing times Monday evening.

The Boston Marathon, sponsored by the Boston Athletic Association, is an international event that draws runners from the United States and abroad. In order to qualify, runners have to meet the times that correspond with their age group and gender listed on the event's website.

The weather Monday in Boston, with high temperatures in the 80s, could negatively impact finishing times.

The Mobility Impaired will be the first round of participants at 9 a.m. followed by the Wheelchair Division and the Handcycles. The Elite Women will begin at 9:32 a.m. and the Elite Men runers will start at 10 a.m. There are a total of three waves of public runners, who will begin at 10 a.m., 10:20 a.m. and 10:40 a.m.

Universal Sports will have coverage of the annual event live on their website from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
