Georgetown University Chamber Singers to Perform in Annandale

The Georgetown University Chamber Singers will bring their acclaimed talents to our area in a free concert at St. Alban's Church.

The Georgetown University Chamber Singers, led by Prof. Fred Binkholder, will perform on Sunday, Feb 28th, at 4:00 pm, at St. Alban’s Church, 6800 Columbia Pk. They will present music from the Baroque and Renaissance eras with pieces by Scarlatti, Bassani, Di Lasso, and Byrd, among others. The Georgetown University Chamber Singers is a select mixed-voice vocal ensemble dedicated to the performance of exceptional choral repertoire for the chamber ensemble. This year they will be the first Jesuit University from North America to perform at the 11th Biennial International Festival of American Renaissance and Baroque Music Festival program in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and they have been offered the prestigious opening day performance. The professional Baroque ensemble Modern Musick, featuring Risa Browder, Leslie Nero and John Moran, will accompany the group. Please plan to attend and stay afterward for light refreshments and talk with the performers.
